Transparent iPhone Air Skeleton by OWNLOOKS

The only one in the world with backlighting

Two Configurations — With and Without Backlight
Air Skeleton is available in two configurations: a base transparent edition, and an illuminated edition with a softly glowing logo — OWNLOOKS or Apple, at your choice — built into the rear panel. The backlight uses the space normally reserved for the wireless charging coil, so MagSafe and wireless charging are available only on the base edition.

Air Skeleton: A New Form of iPhone Air Customisation

Crafted by the Same Atelier Behind Our Bespoke Commissions
Air Skeleton by OWNLOOKS is a custom transformation of the iPhone Air's rear panel into a fully transparent
surface, revealing the device's internal architecture — circuit board, camera module, and battery — as a
deliberate design statement rather than something hidden behind a solid back. It is the only customisation of
its kind currently available for the iPhone Air.
Where most customisation work changes a device's surface material, Air Skeleton changes what the device
reveals. The transformation is carried out entirely by hand, panel by panel, using a process developed
in-house specifically for the iPhone Air's record-thin body — a structural challenge that has made this kind of
work very nearly impossible for other studios to replicate.
Two configurations are available. The base edition presents the transparent architecture with signature
OWNLOOKS detailing, finished to the same standard as our one-off Atelier pieces. The illuminated edition
adds a softly glowing logo — OWNLOOKS or Apple, at the owner's choice — built into the rear panel itself. The backlight is calibrated for restraint: visible, not overbearing, so the device appears to glow gently from
within rather than flash.
One engineering trade-off defines the illuminated edition: the lighting system occupies the space normally
reserved for the wireless charging coil, so MagSafe and wireless charging are not available on that
configuration. This is a deliberate compromise, not a limitation that crept in by accident — it's precisely what
makes it possible to fit illumination inside the Air's exceptionally thin body without altering its external
geometry. Every other function — camera, sensors, speakers, ports, and cellular connectivity — remains fully
operational on both editions.
Air Skeleton is produced by the same craftsmen behind OWNLOOKS' fully bespoke commissions — work that has included royal family clients, world-first projects such as a 24K gold and carbon fiber iMac M3, and devices for high-profile figures across sport and music. Unlike those one-off Atelier pieces, each unrepeated by design, Air Skeleton is released as a limited series of 28 pieces per variant, hand-finished to the same standard as our bespoke work, and currently exclusive to OWNLOOKS because no other studio has solved the engineering required to produce it.
The process begins the same way a bespoke commission does — a conversation about configuration and
finish — but moves faster, since the design itself is already resolved. Production takes between 14 and 40
working days depending on configuration, with the illuminated edition requiring additional time for the lighting
integration. Pricing for Air Skeleton starts from €2,500 for the base transparent edition, and from €3,000 for
the illuminated configuration.
As with all OWNLOOKS work, every finished Air Skeleton device is covered under the atelier's full warranty,
and every button, port, sensor, and camera remains completely functional after customisation — this is a
transformation of what the device shows, not a compromise of what it does.
For those who want the full bespoke process — material choice, design collaboration, a piece that exists as a
single, unrepeated object — that work lives on our Atelier page. Air Skeleton is for those who want that same
craftsmanship in a defined, ready-to-order form.
