- Question:Does bespoke customisation affect my Apple warranty?Support:Yes. Once a device undergoes bespoke customisation by OWNLOOKS — including material application, engraving, or structural modification — Apple's standard manufacturer warranty is voided, as is standard practice with any third-party hardware modification. Because of this, we advise clients never to bring a customised device to Apple Stores or Apple Authorized Service Providers, as these channels are not equipped to service modified devices and doing so will not restore Apple's warranty. From the day your commission is delivered, your device is covered instead by the OWNLOOKS one-year warranty, protecting against defects in our craftsmanship and materials, as well as latent manufacturing faults present in the original device. This warranty does not cover wear and tear, accidental damage, drops, or broken screens. Water damage is also not covered — in line with Apple's own policy, which has never covered water damage either.
- Question:Can I take my device to a third-party repair shop once the warranty has expired?Support:We strongly advise against this, particularly for any repair involving the display or backlight assembly. Devices finished by OWNLOOKS in materials such as 24K gold, woven carbon fiber, Damascus carbon, or fine leather require disassembly techniques unfamiliar to general repair shops and Apple Authorized Service Providers alike. A standard screen or backlight replacement risks permanent damage to the finish, structural integrity, or in-laid materials of your commission. To protect your investment, all post-warranty repairs — including screen and backlight replacement — should be carried out exclusively by OWNLOOKS.
